Event Details:
You can help provide a better future for our state’s children and teens by supporting Putting for Palmetto Place. Our Pre-Tournament Putting Party is not to be missed! On Thursday, October 19th join us for a low country boil from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at City Market in the heart of the Vista. Enjoy an open bar, browse our silent auction items, and dance the night away to live music by Not Even Brothers all while supporting the kids and teens in our shelter. We’ll have golf games, chances to win prizes and fun for everyone.

On Monday, October 23rd the real golf fun begins at our golf tournament. Teams of four will compete for first, second and last place prizes at the beautiful Golden Hills Country Club in Lexington. Lunch and a Bloody Mary bar will be available in the club house prior to a noon shotgun. Golfers can participate in games along the course, have opportunities to lower their scores, and walk away as the day’s big winner. Win or lose, all golfers will get a golf shirt, swag bag, and access to our beer carts. (That’s right, we’ll have more than one this year!) To wrap up the day we’ll provide food and beer during our winner’s ceremony.

Tickets:
Single tickets to the Putting Party are $40 each or two for $75. Golf teams of four are $400 or $125 for a single player and include tickets to the Putting Party.

What You’re Supporting:
Palmetto Place is an emergency shelter in Columbia that provides a safe and supportive environment for abused and neglected children and homeless teens. Since the Shelter opened in 1977, more than 7,000 children and teens have called our house their home, but our community needed more beds for these kids. Last year we not only expanded our shelter but also our programs for homeless teens. We now have 55 beds between two houses and three programs.

The kids in our care are just like the kids you know. They go to school, play sports, do homework, go to prom, worry about college applications, and text their friends for hours at a time. But, the majority of the kids and teens in our care are dealing with both the seen and unseen wounds of trauma. They’ve witnessed domestic violence, have gone days without eating, have lived in houses filled with substance abuse, and have fought for their safety for as long as they can remember.

At Palmetto Place we go beyond meeting their needs for food, shelter and clothing. We help them overcome trauma, build trusting relationships, and set the foundation for success. By participating in Putting for Palmetto Place you’re helping us do this. Your sponsorship or golf team is showing our state’s most vulnerable children and teens our community supports them and believes in their future.
